Know Your Customer. Protect the Platform.
Super Loans uses customer identification and transaction-monitoring procedures designed to support platform security, reduce fraud and help identify potentially suspicious activity.
Purpose of This Policy
This KYC / AML Policy explains the customer identification, verification and anti-financial-crime controls that may be applied when customers use Super Loans services.
The purpose of these procedures is to help protect customers, the platform and the broader financial ecosystem against identity fraud, account abuse, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions violations and other prohibited activity, where applicable.
Specific verification requirements may vary depending on the customer's circumstances, jurisdiction, requested product, transaction characteristics and applicable legal or compliance requirements.
What Is KYC?
KYC means "Know Your Customer." It refers to processes used to establish and verify the identity of a customer before providing certain financial or lending services.
Identity Verification
Customers may be required to provide identifying information and acceptable identity documents.
Document Validation
Submitted documents may be reviewed for authenticity, validity, consistency and completeness.
Eligibility Checks
Additional information may be used to determine whether an applicant meets applicable eligibility requirements.
Risk Assessment
Additional checks may be performed where risk factors or unusual circumstances are identified.
Information We May Request
Depending on the service and applicable requirements, Super Loans may request information such as:
- Full legal name.
- Date of birth.
- Residential or registered address.
- Country of residence or incorporation.
- Government-issued identification.
- Contact information.
- Source-of-funds or source-of-income information where required.
- Information relating to the intended use of a loan or transaction where appropriate.
- Additional information reasonably required for identity, risk or compliance review.
Verification Documents
Depending on the customer's circumstances, acceptable documentation may include government-issued identification, proof of address and other supporting records.
Identity Documents
Examples may include a passport, national identity document or driving licence, subject to applicable requirements.
Proof of Address
Additional evidence may be requested to verify a customer's residential or business address.
Financial Information
Financial or income information may be requested where necessary to assess eligibility, affordability or risk.
Additional Documents
Further documents may be requested when existing information is insufficient or requires clarification.
Documents must be genuine, valid and belong to the person or entity being verified. Altered, fraudulent or misleading documentation may result in an application being declined or further action being taken where appropriate.
How Verification Works
KYC verification is designed to establish that the applicant is who they claim to be and that the information supplied is sufficiently reliable for the relevant service.
Information Submitted
The customer provides the requested personal, identification and supporting information.
Document Review
Submitted documents may be reviewed for validity, consistency and completeness.
Verification Checks
Appropriate verification and risk checks may be performed using available information and applicable systems.
Review Outcome
The application may proceed, require additional information or be declined depending on the results and applicable lending criteria.
Document verification may typically take approximately 3 to 24 hours depending on the document type, issuing country, verification infrastructure and whether additional review is required. This is an indicative timeframe and is not a guarantee.
Anti-Money Laundering
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls are designed to help identify and prevent the use of financial services for unlawful purposes.
Customer Due Diligence
Customer information may be assessed to understand identity, risk and the nature of the requested relationship.
Enhanced Review
Additional checks may be required where heightened risk indicators are identified.
Transaction Monitoring
Transactions may be reviewed for patterns or activity that may require additional investigation.
Record Keeping
Relevant records may be maintained in accordance with applicable requirements and internal procedures.
Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Transactions
Cryptocurrency transactions may involve additional compliance considerations because blockchain transactions can be transferred across jurisdictions and may involve multiple wallets or service providers.
Depending on the circumstances, Super Loans may review available transaction information, wallet addresses, transaction hashes and other relevant information.
Transaction History
Blockchain transaction identifiers may be reviewed where relevant to establish the origin, destination or status of a transaction.
Wallet Information
Customers may be asked for a public wallet address or transaction hash where required. Private keys and recovery phrases should never be provided.
Source of Funds
Additional information may be requested where the source or intended use of funds requires clarification.
Higher-Risk Activity
Certain transaction patterns or circumstances may result in additional review or restrictions.
Ongoing Monitoring
Verification does not necessarily end after an account or application has initially been reviewed.
Where appropriate, Super Loans may conduct ongoing reviews of customer information, transactions and account activity.
- Changes in customer information may require re-verification.
- Unusual activity may trigger additional review.
- Additional documentation may be requested.
- Transactions may be delayed while required checks are completed.
- Access to certain services may be restricted where necessary for security or compliance reasons.
Suspicious or Prohibited Activity
Super Loans may take appropriate action where activity, information or transactions raise legitimate security, fraud or financial-crime concerns.
Examples of potentially concerning activity may include:
- Use of false or misleading identity information.
- Submission of altered or fraudulent documents.
- Attempted account takeover or identity theft.
- Transactions inconsistent with known customer information.
- Attempts to circumvent verification or security controls.
- Activity associated with fraud or other unlawful conduct.
- Attempts to use the platform for prohibited purposes.
Depending on the circumstances, an application, transaction or account may be delayed, restricted, suspended or declined. Where required by applicable law, information may be reported to relevant authorities.
Protection of KYC Information
KYC information can contain highly sensitive personal information. Customer information should therefore be collected, accessed, stored and processed using appropriate security controls.
Super Loans will never require a customer to disclose a cryptocurrency wallet recovery phrase, private key, account password or one-time verification code as part of legitimate KYC verification.
